Large Format - Oce - Repro Desk Studio

Argos can track activity submitted through Repro Desk Studio versions 2.4.0 through 2.5.0.

Configure Repro Desk Studio in Argos Manager

Argos Application server should be installed directly on the Repro Desk Studio server for best results. Click here for instructions on how to install the Application Server components.

  1. Open Argos Manager and browse to Devices & Terminals
  2. Click the "gear" icon and choose Advanceds>Oce Repro Desk Studio
  3. Click Create button to create a new Repro Desk Studio Adapter
  4. Click "Test Connection" to confirm that the database settings are configured correctly. By installing Application Server directly on the Repro Desk Studio server, you can make sure that the default settings will work.
  5. Click the Billing tab
  6. Click the "Export my billing codes to Repro Desk" if your users will interactively bill activity through Repro Desk to projects or other billing codes. Leave the path as http://localhost:8080/ORDAPIService/
  7. Click Enabled and set the frequency that Argos will pull activity from Repro Desk Studio. We recommend an hourly import.
  8. Click OK

Configuring Repro Desk Studio to work with Argos

A few changes need to be made in ORD Studio to make sure it is interacting with Argos correctly.

  1. Install ORD Automation License.
The ORD Automation license is required to sync projects from Argos to Reprodesk. The ORD Communication Service will not run correctly without it.
  2. Disable ORD Windows Print Tracking Service.
Repro Desk Studio has its own print tracking service. Since Argos is presumably already tracking your Windows printing, you should disable the ORD Windows Print Tracking Service.
  3. Disable RD Studio Account Logic integration with Oce controllers.
In most cases, you will be using Argos to populate the accounting fields on your Oce controller, rather than ORD Studio. If both systems are uploading to the Oce controller, you will run into configuration issues.
    1. In Repro Desk Studio, browse to Tools>Options
    2. Click Account Logic>General
    3. Uncheck the "Enable tracking and accounting enforcement via Account Logic" boxes next to all Oce Controllers
  4. Change Argos Integration Service display port

Argos and ORD Studio both use port 7088 for some operations. If you are installing both systems on the same computer, you should change the port that Argos Integration service uses to display its "health" page.

    1. Browse to c:\Program Files\Sepialine\Argos7\Integration
    2. Open AppServer.IntegrationService.exe.config in Notepad
    3. Locate the following lines:
      <!--
Port used to expose diagnostics web page (http://localhost:7088/is/health).
              -->
              <add key="DiagnosticsPagePort" value="7088"></add>
    4. Change the port from 7088 to 7089, so it reads:
      <!--
Port used to expose diagnostics web page (http://localhost:*7089*/is/health).
              -->
              <add key="DiagnosticsPagePort" value="7089"></add>
    5. Browse to Services.msc and restart the Argos Integration Service

Using Repro Desk Studio to populate Oce controller accounting fields

As mentioned above, Repro Desk Studio can be used to populate the accounting fields on the Oce controller. However, we recommend against this option because the user list must be manually maintained in Studio. It does not update the list automatically when changes are made in Argos.

If you do choose to use the accounting settings from Repro Desk Studio to populate the controller, do not use Oce Account Logic integration on your controller as well, or you may have duplicate tracking.
