Configuring the Argos Keypad hardware

Argos Keypads are typically shipped pre-configured from Sepialine Support. You will typically not need to change any of these settings unless directed to do so by a Sepialine Support representative.

After you have created the Argos Keypad in Argos Manager, you configure the physical terminal as follows:

  1. Connect the power supply to the keypad and wait for the keypad to boot.
  2. Press the supv button on the keypad.
  3. Press the 2 button on the keypad.
    The terminal will display:
  4. Enter the supervisor's password.
    The default password is six period characters (......)
  5. When you have entered the password, press the enter/yes button.
    The screen will display:
  6. Press the 2 button on the terminal.
    The terminal will display:
  7. Press the enter/yes button and type in the ID for this keypad. This should match the ID that you gave the keypad in the Argos Manager. For example, if you gave the keypad in the Manager an ID of 002, enter 002 on the keypad and press the enter/yes button.
  8. Press the finish button.
    The keypad will display:
  9. Press the enter/yes button.
    The keypad will display:
  10. To have the keypad use DHCP (recommended), or to leave the keypad static IP address as is, press the down arrow button on the terminal.
  11. To give the keypad a static IP address, press the enter/yes button and type in the static IP address for this keypad . Press the enter/yes button when you are done.
    The keypad will display:
  12. To have the keypad use DHCP for the subnet, or to leave the keypad subnet as is, press the down arrow button on the keypad.
  13. To set the keypad subnet, press the enter/yes button and type in the subnet for this keypad. Press the enter/yes button when you are done.
    The keypad will display:
  14. Enter the IP address of the server on which the Argos Communication Service is installed. Press the enter/yes button when you are finished.
    The keypad will display:
  15. If using a static IP address, enter the IP address of the default gateway on your network. Press the enter/yes button when you are finished.

    Do not modify this setting unless instructed to do so by Sepialine Support.
  16. Press the down arrow on the terminal keypad.
    The keypad will display:
  17. To enable DHCP on the keypad, press the enter/yes button twice.
  18. To disable DHCP on the keypad, press the enter/yes button and then the cancel/no button.
  19. When you are finished configuring the keypad, press the finish button until you exit all menus. If you changed the DHCP setting for the keypad, the keypad will automatically reboot.
  20. Connect a network cable to the keypad and connect it to your network.
